Random pics

Wow look at me I'm bogging again and it's only been a couple of days since my last post, its a miracle!! These are just a few random things I wanted to blog about.

The first one is Jethro's niece Keola came with her dad from Hawaii to visit while he did some work on their rentals. It was so much fun to see her we just wished all the kids could have come!

The next one is Ana getting her hair professionaly trimmed, not cut because we didn't want to take off to much length. I usually trim her hair but I'm so bad at it we have to get it fixed up by a pro. She looks nervous but she wasn't at all, she was really excited to have it done.

I thought this was funny, it looks like Penina isn't wanting to share the cookies but the two monkeys were actually slapping the cookies like a drum.

This is Penina showing her Samoan side, Jethro gave her a chicken leg to teeth on, she wouldn't let it go I tried to take it but she had a good grip on it in her mouth and when I did get it away she cried no bawled like a baby big time so I gave it back and she instantly calmed down.

A Happy 30th Birthday!

My 30th Birthday has come and gone and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I've been dreading this day for a whole year, but 30 is just another number I guess. I think because I really enjoyed my birthday it made it easier to bear or bare I don't know I'm not an english major but you know what I mean. Anyway, we started off the day fishing at the Spanish Fork Resivior, it was a perfect day to fish too, not too hot and even though we didn't catch anything the view was beautiful to just sit and relax and soak in!! Then we headed down to the ball park to have a picinic lunch with my family which is a tradition we have on Memorial Day but since it also happen to be my birthday when I got there they had a big banner that said "30 Happens" and a cake and decorations and my sister greeted me with a beautiful flower lei! They spoil me, it was a lot of fun. Afterwards we played a game of baseball, I got to hit twice and made it home both times, but the rest of the time Penina wouldn't be happy with anyone but me, both a curse and a blessing. I had a fun time hanging out with all my cousins and aunts and uncles. Then we went for a walk by the river with my cousin JoAnna and her family and her little girl Whitney collected a handfull of bugs it was so funny!! On our way home we stopped by the cemetery and decorated our loved ones graves with flowers. It was a fun fun day. I am so blessed to have a wonderful family to love and support me in all I do and most of all a wonderful husband who is my best friend and loves me for me and who I get to share two beautiful girls with and who are light of my life!

A very happy mothers day

This was the best mothers day so far. It was a lot of fun because our branch did the most thoughtful thing they had a mothers day dinner and dance. The men did all the work and even put on a performance, and I remembered to take my camera this time. So here are a few videos of the dances they did, it was very comical!! Before the dinner the men were asked to escort their wives to the front and the youth gave us a single rose and then we danced with our husbands and then they took us back to our seats and brought us our food. It was so much fun I've never felt to appreciated, I really had a good time!

Then on Mothers Day they gave us candy lei's after sacrament meeting, I LOVED that som much better then the muddy wet plants we usually get lol. After church we went to my moms for dinner and hung out. Jethro and I took the girls for a walk and then returned back for some yummy strawberry short cake for dessert! It was a wonderful mothers day!

I'm so grateful for this time we have to reflect on the wonderful things our moms have done for us and to treat them with a little more respect. I know my mom reads my blog so I'll take this time to tell her once again how much I love her and I don't know what in the world I would do without her. She has instilled so many fun and wonderful traditions in our family we may have our family drama from time to time but there is on thing for sure we have a lot of fun when mom is around! I love you mom thanks for all that you do for us!!

First day of school

Jethro had his first day of school today in 15 years. Yes my friends he hasn't had a day of school since he graduated High school. I've been nagging him for 8 years now to just take one class. So finally he decided he would and of all classes to start off with he is taking Math. So far so good he is impressed with himself on how much he actually understands considering how long its been since he has taken a math class. I'm so proud of him for taking this step. I know its been hard for him to go back at this time in our life, busy with work, kids, hula shows and all that life throws at you but he knows it will be worth it in the end and it will be a great experiance!!

A Stake Dance at my age?!?!

I need a big kick in the butt, I can't believe I didn't have my camera with me last night. First I should mention that Jethro and I have started attending a Samoan Ward and what a blessing it has been, but we'll save that topic for another post another day. What I want to share with you is that this weekend is our stake conference and our stake is a Tongan stake which consists of Tongan Wards and Samoan Wards. So to start off our Stake Conference last Sunday we had a Primary Fireside and all the primary kids in the stake put on the program, it was amazing to hear all those kids singing together, they filled up the whole chapel and all the parents filled up the overflow and gym. Then last night we had a Stake Dance, this was not your usual stake dance for youth only this was a family style stake dance and it was a blast!! When they announced it I told Jethro I wanted to go out of curiosity. It was at the UVU ballroom and it was ALOT of fun! It wasn't just a dance tho each ward performed a dance number from the different islands, and in between numbers they played music and everyone young and old got out on the dance floor and boogied. The best was the older couples in there 70's and 80's out on the floor dancing as well. That is when I wished I had my camera to capture these couples dancing. It was so sweet, they didn't only just dance to the slow songs but to the fast songs as well, one older gentleman who looked to be in his late 80's was dancing the "Electric Slide". It was so fun to see everyone out on the floor dancing, even Ana had a blast she was all over the dance floor. The sweetest thing that just melted my heart was when Ana saw other kids dancing with their parents she came up to me and said "Mama, come dance with me" how could I say no. I have always been so self conscience when it comes to dancing but not this time I didn't care I was gonna have fun dancing with Ana and after that I was out on the floor most of the time. I'm telling you I've never enjoyed a stake dance more then I did last night!!
